Maui Monday (Day One)

Vacations are hard to come by in the GVZ household. We have planned and subsequently canceled a lot of them this year (back surgeries, work crisis', crazy schedules, etc.) and I have learned my lesson and will always buy trip insurance. So, imagine my surprise when we found a great last-minute deal to Maui, we booked it, and it ACTUALLY happened. We had beyond a fabulous time with lots of fun, lots of rest, and lots of relaxation. Norah and I took a nap together every afternoon and we all went to bed at the same time (i.e., early). It was a little slice of heaven.

We took a direct flight out of SFO and it was a relatively painless trip.

Made possible by Finding Nemo on the portable DVD player.

There was a lot of much needed running at the Maui airport.

Norah didn't sleep a wink on the plane, but passed out literally 2 minutes before we got to the Westin.

We spent the late afternoon checking out the resort and then cleaning up for dinner. Norah was very into wearing her floral dresses and flowers in her hair.

This was a common theme-Norah demanding that we leave the room. She would say 'let's rock and roll!' or 'let's lock and load' (clearly she listens to us way more than we think she does), and then scream 'COME ON LET'S GO!'

Saying hi to the flamingos and ducks (aka, swans).

We had dinner the first night at the grill at the resort. Norah (shockingly) loves french fries.

How fun! Your trip sounds like it was amazing...so excited about a post from each day you were there! :) Norah's curls are just the cutest, and I about died when I read that she yells "lock and load." That's hysterical!!!
