Baby 2 (ETA: a doll, not a sibling)

Norah's cousins gave her a baby doll for Christmas. Norah totally digs Baby (not to be confused with Baby Nanor-the soft doll). She dresses and undresses her, changes her diaper, gives her the pacifier, puts her to bed, wakes her up, strolls her around, and offers her food and water. It's pretty cute.

Last week Norah still had a cough and she must have coughed and then barfed while she was taking a nap (I know, so gross). Her bed was totally pukey and poor Baby got doused the worst. BVZ and I did our best to clean her (hey, we even used oxy-clean) but it was soaked all the way through the fabric part and Baby's giant rubber head prevented us from just throwing her in the washing machine. So, Baby went to Baby Doll Heaven (ie, the kitchen trash can-I felt totally guilty about this and wanted to recycle her in some way but it just didn't seem feasible or sanitary).

We had to replace Baby before Norah figured out what had happened, so a quick trip to Target and Baby 2 made her debut.

Baby had brown eyes and Baby 2 has bright blue eyes. I actually liked the brown eyed one better because I wanted her to be a little different looking than Norah, but blue was all that Target had and beggars can't be choosers. They actually had some African-American dolls of the same brand and size so Baby 2 is going to get a sister, I think.

Norah has taken to Baby 2 just fine although she knows there is something a bit off. She keeps touching her eyes and saying 'Baby, eyes!' but seems to be okay with it.

I'm so sad Baby #1 met such an unpleasant demise. Let's not share that story with her cousins.
