It's completely ridiculous that Norah has gone this long without being able to swim. The biggest problem has been the fact that she is a huge chicken. For the longest time she wouldn't even get in the water, much less put her face in it. Obviously having a pool in the back yard means she has to be able to swim. Or if not swim, at least not drown. She remained pretty uninterested until Ruby and Lucas were here and she saw that kids her age were SUPPOSED to be able to swim and she felt really left out by not being able to keep up with them. After that it was game on. She asked to take lessons, wanted to practice, got really brave in the pool, etc. She still won't do anything crazy like jump off the side or go down the slide, but I am totally okay with that. All I care about is the not drowning. We have been to two lessons and she is already a totally different kid. I am very proud of her.
Louis is a different story. He has no fear. NO FEAR. He has taken ten years off of my life already. The instructor at swim school said I have my hands full with him. No kidding.
