Christmas 2009

We had a full house this Christmas. There was a ton of love and we had a ton of fun. Grammy and Aunt Kristin flew in on the 23rd, and then Grandma and Aunt Vanessa got here on Christmas Eve. Everyone brought their holiday 'A' game, especially Aunt V who brought a crackling yule log (a DVD that is a continual loop of a lovely fire accompanied by Christmas carols).

Here is Grammy relaxing by the fire:

Grammy and Kristin brought Norah 'Merry Moose' (ie, a stuffed reindeer).

We made a traditional Texas Christmas Eve dinner of chili and tamales. Grammy is showing off the industrial sized bag of tortilla chips (thanks, Costco).

We got a Norah sized tree this year. The flash washed out the effect of the lights, but it was really very lovely.

The loot.

The cooks.

We had a great dinner. Megan, Pam, Ruby, and Caitlin (Ruby's aunt) joined us and Norah and Ruby entertained everyone by dancing to the dinosaur song. Things got a little hectic, so I didn't manage to take a single picture while they were here. Halfway through Norah ditched her Christmas dress in lieu of her leisure suit.

Norah and I made cookies for Santa (low sugar, of course--that dude could stand to lose a few).

Norah got a bath and into her special Christmas jammies.

I tried to get her to load up Santa's plate with some cookies.

She attempted to walk them over to the fireplace and someone got this amazing picture right before she dumped them on the floor.

There are many, many pictures of her eating the cookies, putting them back on the plate, picking them up to eat again, putting them back down, etc. etc. But they are all totally cute.

Notice how the damn cat has shredded our poor chair.

Reindeer for feet.

The dinosaur dance. Again.

Christmas morning was spent enjoying Norah enjoy her new chair, play kitchen, and the many amazing gifts from her Grandmas and Aunties. Video to come later, including one of Norah playing with the soccer set she got from her dad.

We took a break to go to the park and then resumed the fun.

Grandma gave BVZ a bobble head doll of Andy Sipowicz from NYPD Blue (don't ask). Every time Norah saw it she pointed and said 'dad'. Note how bald the bobble head is....

VZ family picture.

I didn't manage to get a G family picture with my camera, but here's a cute one of 3 of them.

My holiday girl. So not a baby anymore. I am not sure how I feel about that.

  2. 1. LOVE Norah's Christmas jammies -she looks absolutely precious in them

    2. I can't believe how curly Norah's hair is getting - so cute. I am jealous - would love to have curly hair and I am sure when she is a teen ager she will probably hate it.

    3. Congrats on winning the cooking contest! Your fish looked soooooo yummy! I had no idea this contest was so cut throat. Maybe next year you should kick it up a notch and add a secret ingredient like they do on Iron Chef.

Glad you all had a good visit in Texas
