Lovey

Norah never really took to a lovey when she was itty bitty. When we worked with the sleep consultant (some day I will write about that--I am not ready to jinx ourselves just yet....) she conveyed just how important it is that every kid connects to a lovey. Sleep lady insisted that it was our job to just pick something and be consistent with it and that is what would become her security item. So, I went out and bought 3 of the same little soft blanket (that we affectionately named Mr. Night Night) and for several weeks Norah seemed to be really into it. But, then, in true Norah fashion, she decided she wanted to pick her own lovey--the blanket that Auntie K knitted for her before she was even born. Of course she would pick the one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable, unique thing for her lovey. If we lose it we are so screwed. Auntie K? Make more, please?

  1. Is Auntie K and my cousin one in the same? If so, she knits? That's awesome.

  2. Better a slobbered on, dirty and torn lovey than something stored in the closet. I love that N loves it.

  3. Know exactly what you're talking about! Diego has his "covijita" (blanky in Spanish)and we had to search to find some identical ones to spread around. He now has three.

  4. I like those photos. Norah looks like a lone wolf, striking out on her own, small hobo-style. I think if she were left in the woods overnight, she'd know what to do.
