I love the annual Half Moon Bay pumpkin festival. I am not sure why. It is crowded (I pretty much hate the general public), it takes forever to get there even though it is normally only 15 minutes from our house, and the food is kind of gross and ridiculously over priced. But there is something to be said about walking through the streets of one of my favorite towns drinking pumpkin beer and eating pumpkin pie.
Here is an enlarged thumbnail of the picture we took with the winner of the giant pumpkin contest (1,600 lbs.). Norah was in a great mood until we made her sit on the pumpkin. I am not sure what her problem was, but she was pissed. I should try and scan the one we took last year. She is so little her head barely peeks out over the top of the pumpkin. If nothing else, it is worth the drive every year just to get our picture with a giant gourd.
Norah riding in style with her shades and glow in the dark pirate shirt. I was afraid people would think she was a boy (she was wearing a boy's shirt I bought at a rummage sale), so I put a bow in her hair. It wasn't needed because she insisted upon wearing her leopard print sunglasses. We get stopped a lot because people are taken aback by how blue her eyes are, and we get stopped a lot because she looks so freaking cute when she wears her sunglasses. Several people reached out to give her a high five.
We caught the awards ceremony for the costume contest.
Norah was really into a little boy in a Spock outfit.
This tiny baby was dressed as a sundae. You can't tell from the picture, but there was even a cherry on top. It was awesome.
More giant pumpkins.
More people.
We ran into some of our baby friends, but forgot to take a picture. Norah was too busy stuffing her face with pumpkin mac and cheese, one of her friends was napping, and the other was trying to convince her parents to get her out of her chicken costume. She and I split a piece of pumpkin pie and I think she ate more of it than I did. Next year we'll get her meat on a stick.
Dude. You are wearing a Happy Halloween shirt. I thought the day would never come. The pumpkins must be magical. HA!
ReplyDeletePumpkin mac and cheese? That's sounds disgusting...I want some. Looks like you guys had some fun.
